Our experienced services include:

• Tree Felling incorporates either taking a tree down in its entirety, or leaving a butt as standing dead wood for habitat. Trees can be felled in various ways:- Felling in one from the base of the tree with or without the aid of a pulling rope or winch, wedges and felling bar; or in sections, felled by the use of a MEWP (Mobile Elevated Work Platform). Additionally, a climber can climb the tree and dismantle it in small sections with or without the aid of rigging, to lower the wood in a controlled manner usually used over obstacles like a green house etc.
• Crown Reduction  is carried out to a percentage, i.e. a 20% crown reduction. This percentage is not necessarily a percentage of the whole tree but a percentage of the crown only, not including the butt. It reduces the height and spread of the trees crown.
• Crown Thin - Again, this is carried out to a percentage, i.e. 15% crown thin. This percentage is how much the crown is thinned by and doesn’t have much if any effect on the trees height or spread. It makes the canopy of the tree less dense.
• Crown Clean - A crown clean simply removes any crossing branches, dead wood and anything that shouldn’t be there, like rope and timber etc.
• Crown Lift - This is often followed by a measurement, i.e. crown lift to 3m above ground level. This is the amount cleared when pruned.
• Pollard - This is an aggressive reduction and works to a measurement, i.e. pollard at 8m. A pollarded tree will not have any leaf coverage and will often be just a single pole or will resemble a hat stand. Once a tree has been pollarded it will have to be maintained on a regular basis.
• Stump Grinding - Healthy tree stumps can be left and not cause any problems, resulting in an attractive feature in your garden i.e. a stand for pots or an area for a bird table to be placed. However, when a tree is felled to allow for a new surface like a drive way or path to be laid, then the stump needs to be completely removed. We can grind out the stump to below ground level which then enables whatever new surface to be laid over the top from turf, a patio or a new driveway.
• Wind Blown Clearance - This is the clearance of trees already fallen which must be removed due to Health and Safety reasons. This can be either branches hung up in a neighbouring tree or over water etc.
• Ground Clearance - This is to completely clear an area of land for a commercial development or to tidy up a residential garden of unwanted brambles etc. We can dispose of all unwanted arising from the clearance for you and then if necessary rotavate the land for you to find it more manageable in the future.
• Recycling - We try to recycle as much of the timber and brushwood as possible in the form of Logs, Chippings and Mulch. Logs are a good alternative heat supply for either your home in an open fire or log burner and in the garden to fuel patio heaters, fire pits or chimenea. Chippings are great to cover play area floors or areas in your garden. We also supply power stations and bio mass boilers. Mulch is a good covering for your flower beds which help suppress weeds and keep the moisture in the soil.
